Thanks for your participation in our Virtual Donkey Pen-Pal Program.  Due to the high interest, all Pen Pal Donkeys have Pen Pals and none are currently
available for the Pen-Pal Program. Please email us if you have a favorite donkey you would like us to reserve for you.
  • It's a great way to get to know the miniature donkey breed and learn how wonderful and amazing they are.
  • You may want to learn more about farm animals and farm life.
  • You want your child to learn more about animals (without the scenario of buying, then losing interest. We parents
    know that kids do that sometimes). Virtual Donkey Pen-pal responses will be age appropriate. Just state your
    child's age on registration form.
  • You have always wanted to live on a farm or in the country.
  • Your space is limited for raising a farm animal (condos and apartments are a little too cramped for a 250 pound
    donkey).
  • You are not home every day to care for a donkey.
  • You have always wanted to work with animals but life never led you in that direction.
  • Your neighbors are not "animal people" and don't want you to be!
  • You just don't have enough time to care for animals.
  • Your family thinks a Virtual Donkey Pen-pal is a brilliant idea -- your brilliant idea!
  • Someone else feeds your Virtual Donkey Pen-pal twice daily, worms her every 8 weeks, and trims her hooves
    every 6 weeks -- no matter what the weather is like.
  • It's fun! Give it a try!

How do I select a Virtual Donkey Pen-pal?
  • Go to the Our Jennets page on our website. Peruse from a variety of colors and sizes for the donkey you would
    like to "correspond" with. Place her name (for example: Indian Princess or Silver Queen or any other jennet) on
    the form at the bottom of this page and mail it to us.
  • Your Choices -- Select your virtual donkey jennet pen-pal from:
  • 19 delightful donkey jennets of heights ranging from 30" - 34" and ages 3 to 14 years.
  • Variety of colors including grey, chocolate, brown, spotted, white, or sorrel.

What will I receive?
  • Monthly information in pen-pal e-mail format and/or USPS-deliveries including:
  • History of the miniature donkey breed (first month only)
  • How to care for a donkey
  • Your Virtual Donkey Pen-pal's current height and weight (monthly)
  • Pictures of your donkey in her daily routine (monthly from real-life donkey experiences from the farm)
  • A photo of your pen-pal jennet in her Sunday-best halter and lead rope
  • A picture of you with your donkey (send us a photo and we will send you a photoshop-edited picture of the
    two of you together to show your friends. Isn't technology amazing!)
  • Information about her personality, eating habits, favorite foods, social habits, daily activities, and friends
  • Birth announcement if a foal is born

Some questions you might have:
  • How long will my virtual donkey pen-pal and I correspond?  
Six months is standard but if you would like to correspond longer, that can be arranged.

  • Is there a charge?  
$20 for six months. About $3.60 per month to cover the cost of printing and mailings.

  • May I visit the farm to see my donkey?  
Absolutely! Just call or email to set up an appointment. We love to talk donkeys.

  • Is my virtual pen-pal donkey real?
Yes. Your donkey pen-pal lives right here on our farm where she is loved and cared for.

  • Am I obligated for the cost of care for my virtual pen-pal donkey?
No. You are not obligated in any way for care.

  • Really! Why would I want to pen-pal a donkey?
To learn more about the miniature donkey breed and how wonderful they are.  
And it's fun!  It's like being on the farm but without the work boots.
